Get your Royal on

A few days ago, I was as usual scrolling down my Instagram looking for astonishing pictures to like for the simple reason of boredom. As I was scrolling down I could not miss an unusual picture that immediately drew my attention. It was a picture of a girl wearing an unusual crown advertising a business that creates unique and out of the ordinary crowns. As curious as I was, I went on the Instagram page and started to explore the different types of crowns the business owner posted and was amazed and taken back by the beauty of every single one of them; one more beautiful than the other. 

Then suddenly I began to think about something that we girls get told most of the times if you attend a church filled with encouraging people or you should know if you have not been told this yet. 

YOU ARE ROYALTY!!! 

This particular sentence is used around me all the time, it is almost part of the culture and language of the church I attend; also something I strongly believe in.

If we take it back to scripture, in 

Romans 8:17 it speaks about us being heirs and co- heirs with Christ - " “And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. ”(NLT). 

Even Peter speaks about us being a chosen generation and a ROYAL Priesthood- “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”

1 Peter 2:9 (NLT) 

But what does that actually mean ? 

Speaking from personal experience, I know that Gods word tells me I'm special and Royal but if I am honest, most of the time I don't feel special and certainly not royal. I look at my life and think how much of a failure I am and begin to be really hard on myself. Nevertheless, as I spend more time with this topic, I realised something that was probably very simple but  I oversaw. 

I AM ROYALTY!!!

I am not royalty because I am a good person, I am not royalty because I am born into a wealthy and Royal family, I am not royalty because I live in Buckingham Palace and I am certainly not royalty because I feel like I deserve it; but I am Royal because of the sacrifice Jesus has made. 

Since the day I have made a decision to accept Christ into my heart and walk in the understanding that my sins are forgiven and I am made righteous through Jesus; I have become heir to Jesus's inheritance.

Through his blood I am made Royal. 

However most of the times I live my life with the simple knowledge of " Yes I am Royal and Yess I am heir to his kingdom" but I don't live my life out to the fullness of that knowledge. I live day and day out without putting my crown on. 

If we are truly Royal and heir to his kingdom, we need to begin to behave like we are royalty. Royals represent their name, their country, their family, their kingdom. We have accepted the name of Jesus and the right  to be called children of God, we represent the kingdom of God on earth, our family is now the the bride of God (the Church). But why do we constantly forget to walk like we are royalty and why do we not speak, behave and live life with the confidence that comes from that knowledge? 

You are Royal by DNA.

You are Royal by default, weather you know it or not.

You are Royal through the blood of Jesus. 

You are Royal, because his word says so and his word never returns void. 

You are Royal, because you are the heir of Jesus's inheritance. 

YOU ARE ROYAL! 

There is a saying that we use in the churc I attend that is related to the women's ministry that says GET YOUR ROYAL ON. 

And I believe it can be one of the most powerful sayings if we understand the meaning of it. 

If we know we are Royal we would be more confidant in the understanding of who we are and where our identity comes from (Jesus Christ). We would represent God and his Kingdom unapologetically as we are heirs to his inheritance. We would begin to walk in the freedom that Jesus has granted us and we would know who we are representing, our value that has been revealed to us through the name that has been given to us. 

So if you are reading this in you bed about to go to sleep or if you are reading this on your way to work, a meeting or just relaxing in your free time; let me encourage you to know and understand the worth that you have been given. YOU ARE ROYAL and there nothing that can change this. Start putting your crown on and walk in this understand, in this FACT that you are special, you have value, you are of high worth, you have a great purpose, you are chosen, you have a fearfully and wonderfully made, you are heirs to his kingdom and you are indeed ROYALTY. 

It's time that you get your Royal on and start walking through life with the knowledge that you have a crown on your head !!! 

Authority

Our parents, teachers, police men, judges, boss, manager, older sibling, etc whoever they are, a name, a position comes with Authority. 

By definition, authority is the power or right to give orders or make decisions and enforce obedience. 

Why do we automatically listen to someone who has authority above us and how do we know they have authority over us? 

How does a person look like who has authority? 

In my head a person who has some kind of authority knows what their position is. They know who they are, they know their name and their title. They know what power comes with their position, they know the what stands behind their name. 

They walk like someone with authority, they treat others like someone with authority, they have respect from others like someone with authority and in the business world or at some work places, they dress like someone with authority. 

If this principle of authority is so easy to understand in the worldly view why do Gods people don't know how to apply this into the spiritual and godly realm? 

In John 13:3-5 we see the story of Jesus washing the disciples feet. Jesus who has authority over heaven and earth, Jesus who was sitting on the throne of the holy of Holy's, Jesus who had all the power washes the feet of his friends. 

The lesson behind this act was not just to show us how to be a servant if you want to be a great leader with authority but he teaches us that even though he knew what was going to happen to him, even though he knew that Judas was going to betray him, even though he knew that Peter and all the other disciples will run away and not stick up for him at the time he needs them the most; he humbles himself and shows us an act of grace. 

He was confidant in the promise that God  has given him. He was sure of who he was and he didn't just look at the picture that was taking place in the here and now but he saw the picture that was far bigger than the disciples  could have ever imagined. He saw the bigger picture. 

When you trust in Gods word, your authority is secure. 

 Isaiah 54:17 

“no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.”

Authority doesn't just come with confidence but also with the knowledge of who we are and what power comes with the new identity we have been given after receiving salvation. What do we see in the mirror when we look at ourselves ? 

Do we see 

Defeat 

Weak 

Fearful 

No use 

Guilty 

Worthless

Ugly 

Not good enough 

Broken 

Not confidant 

And many more ? 

Why is it that time after time, even though God reminds us constantly who we are and who he is; we still doubt ourselves and see all the negative things and sometimes also start to speak them over our lives? 

The secret to when we look into the mirror is that we start to see and listen to what the devil wants us to see and hear. 

A few years ago I saw a Instagram post that said "I want to be the kind of woman/man who when I wake up the devil says s*** she/he is awake". 

The problem with that quote I found is that we wish to be that person who scares the devil when we wake up and don't realise that since the day we received salvation and started walking in our purposed and destined life that God has given us, we are the kind of people who scare the enemy.

This is exactly the reason why we see all the negative things in the mirror and hear the negative things about ourselves in our ears. We see the lie the devil wants us to see, when the devil sees the truth of who we truly are and who God has created us to be. 

When God sees us and the enemy sees us they see

Strong 

Of heaven 

Forgiven 

Warrior 

Fearless 

Game changer 

History maker 

Child of God 

Son of the King of kings

Daughter of the King of kings 

Royalty 

Destined 

Purpose 

Valuable 

Worthy 

Amazing 

Fighter 

But then .... 

How is it that the Devil knows who we truly are more than we do ? 

If authority comes with knowing who we are and the position that we have been given through Christ. Then we need to realise that the battle has been won, we have authority over every problem, storm and mountain the Devi throws at us. We are the people the enemy is scared of when we wake up because we 

Wake up with authority 

We walk with authority 

We speak with authority 

We wear the authority that comes with the name CHILD OF GOD THE KING OF KINGS. 

It is time to know and Truly KNOW who we are and walk in his Authority. 

LOVE is Patient

Love is patient, 

"This is for all the singles out there" that's how I initially started this, however I was reminded afterwards that none f the word that is written is just for a specific person and the relationship status they are in. So here is to the single, dating, engaged, married, divorced or widower. Love is such a sensitive and also important and emotional subject to speak about, and I am not going to lie about it causing a lot of heart break and sadness, however I believe that initially it was given to us for a higher purpose. 

So get inspires and encouraged today with what I have been given to share with you. 

God is love and love is God. 

LOVE IS PATIENT 

In this world it can be very hard to find someone that we connect with, find attractive and also compatible with us; when we think we have found the person it is usual that the person is taken, does not really show an interest in us or has put us in the famous "friend zone". I am not going to lie, finding a life partner who respects us and has the same values and believes as us can be hard, even when we are surrounded by a lot of suitable people, there is always something that tells us that it is just not right. 

I myself have been praying about this subject a lot lately and also tried to find encouragement to stay strong and not give up praying and hoping that the right person will come along one day. 

On my parent's anniversary, I gave them a photo frame with one of their beautiful wedding pictures in it. I see their love grow for each other every day and always wished that one day I will also have someone who I can lead life with in the ways of God and always have Jesus in our centre like they do in their marriage. The frame is silver and has the famous love verse in 1Corinthians 13 carved into it in black.  As I was speaking to God about how I wish my future partner to be like and how I was getting a bit frustrated as it seemed like all my friends were getting into relationships, marriage and engagement and  I was still alone and single; God started speaking to me. I went to our little glass shelf and lifted the frame with the picture of my parents and as I read out what was written on it, I realised that God was giving me something that I needed at that specific time that would give me courage for the coming days and months.

The verse starts with 'Love Is Patient'!!!

It felt like a huge wave in the ocean just hit my whole being and I was just rolling into this simple but powerful revelation I was just receiving. See, there is a specific reason why the verse starts with patience, it could have started with love is kind, love is not self-seeking and all the other things the verse includes, but it starts with LOVE IS PATIENT. That's when God started to speak to me and said; my daughter, if you are looking for love, you first need to learn how to be patient.

Here is a copy of the whole verse: 

Love is PATIENT ,love is KIND. 

It does NOT ENVY, it does NOT BOAST, it is NOT PROUD. It does NOT DISHONOUR  others, it is NOT SELF-SEEKING, it is NOT easily ANGERED, it keeps NO RECORDS OF WRONGS. Love does NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL, but REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH, It always PROTECTS, always TRUSTS, always HOPES, always PERSEVERES. 

LOVE NEVER FAILS. 

When I looked back at the verse I realised that this was a mini step by step manual of how to build a good and loving relationship not just with our life partner but also with everyday relationships. 

I genuinely believe that there are no coincidences in this world. The people we meet and the people we talk to throughout the day where meant to be and are part of a bigger plan, but let's get back to the topic of love is patient. 

As I was reading the whole verse in my head, God asked me, how can you be kind to a person if you can't even be patient. There is a reason why I put patience as the first word. The greatest loves in our lives take time and we need to learn how to be patient and wait for the right timing as well as be patient with each other. 

This is when it hit me hard, I realised that my greatest love was already given to Jesus Christ, and he waited a long time for me to understand his love, grace and forgiveness. He turned out to be the greatest love of my life. In the same way if I was looking for Love, the love that is going to be there for me and is ready to spend the rest of my life with me, then let me tell you that there is only one key to it and it's patience. 

There are many reasons for why it is taking so long for us to find out love and one of them could be that one of us or even both of us needs to grow and get to a point in life where we will be accepted by each other. How many times have we heard that one partner says to the other or both say that the other one would never have date the other or married them if they got to know them a few years earlier. There is always a reason for why it is taking so long and I like to believe that if it is taking longer then the better, perfect and suitable it will be.

I like to keep these little encouragements short, there is a reason why I say little. 

So to wrap it up, everyone out there who is looking for that one person or whatever situations you are in right now, be encouraged today to have faith in God that he will provide in his timing and to be a little bit more patient with the loves we already have around us. The right 2nd B.A.E ( before anything else) will reveal themselves and enter our life (of cause I am saying 2nd as we all should have our JC as BAE first). It is hard and though out there but stay strong, courageous and patient. Remember Love is what you want and LOVE IS PATIENT.

Let him direct your path

In our day to day life we are always faced with little problems and temptations from which we learn to make good decisions. Problem solving is one of the most important skills that employers look for in an employee.  People who keep their cool and look for a solution when going through an obstacle, tend to be very successful and great decision makers.

But it's a little different when we are faced with problems that are beyond our understanding and reach. 

When  we are faced with hardship and have no clue of where to go or what step to take next, we tend to create our own plan B and follow our own path. We start to think like an employee and start to create solutions to problems that are not there to be solved, but are there to test our faith and trust in God.

In situatulions like this we forget that the stone infront of us is not there so we can start to create our own short cuts and take another route or look for a plan B, but it's there so that we can learn to trust God in everything we face and blindly rely on God. 

We need to know that everything we face in life and every problem we go through may it be small or big, is there with a great plan in mind. It is like a chess move that God makes to confuse the enemy. Our understanding cannot comprehend it; god gives permission for the situation to enter our life for a reason. We need to learn how to be patient and listen to what God has to say. Most times it is really difficult to be patient and understand why God has brought certain things into our life. so, when we are faced with them, we tend to start blaming God, look for excuses and instead of running into him we run away from him and try to use our brain and our understanding to make the most of it.

I love the saying " only time will tell " . This saying is soo relevant in our daily life with God another saying that I like to say is

" THE LONGER IT TAKES FOR YOU TO RECEIVE GOD'S BELSSING,  THE GREATER THE BLESSING IS GOING TO BE - GOD IS PERFECTING IT"

We need to understand that God always does everything with a plan and a blessing behind it. I am speaking from my own experience. We never understand what God is doing or why he is bringing certain things into our life But we need to remember that his LOVE and GRACE for us is greater than any temptation and hardships we face.

God let's it enter ylour path so that we learn how to trust him and overcome those situations.  He is training us to become greater.  

He is using us to clear the way for others who are behind us, the ones we are leading and building. The people who look up to us and come to us for advise,  the people who in time will probably go through the same things that we are going through rifht now and you will be able to help them and advise them on which path to go and how to overcome the obstacle. 

God puts hardships in our paths so that we learn to how to be patient and wait for  God's timing to take the next step.

"THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE TAKE THEIR TIME"

Patience is keye in our daily life with God.

SO LET'S LEARN TO WAIT AND LET HIM DIRECT OUR PATH.

Step out of your comfort zone and step into your destiny

It is human nature to get familiar and comfortable with different situations that we learn or begin to include in our day to day life. However, sometimes familiar and comfortable feelings can quickly turn into a trap that is called habbits or routines. It is important for us to scan through our life and start to recognise those routines; may it be addictions, laziness or other bad habbits that keep us away from our calling, they need to be removed asap.

One quote that I really like is " You are the greatest barrier that stands between you and your dreams". It is of high importance that we are open to learn new things every day and  that we work hard on whatever we are destined or are called to do.
It is very important for our soul to have new  experiences and get bad habbits out of our life, mind and memories.
This way it is gonna be a little bit more unchallenging for us to step out of the place we call "comfort zone" and dare to step into our destiny and chase after our biggest dreams.

It takes a lot of bravery and faith in God to take a step towards our dreams.
The world might be against us, people that we love and trust might discourage us, because they don't see our dream the same  way we do.

But there is one important factor, probably the most important one when it comes to destiny and dreams. People are gonna be against us, people are gonna be negative and discourage us because they don't see what we see.
Dreams and passion is not something that we randomly feel, it is something that we are born with, something that has been placed in our hearts with a great purpose in mind.

Dreams are there to go after
Dreams are there to become reality
Dream are there to be visions
And dreams are there for a reason. 

When you know that you are living your destiny and God is walking with you, there is
nothing that can scare you,
nothing that can pull you down,
nothing that can stand against you and no battle that you cannot overcome.
When you are stepping into your destiny you are not on this journey alone. As I said dreams and destiny are there for a great purpose, so when you start walking in the right path, you will have God to fight the battles for you, to advise you when your are lost, to carry you when you are tired and to comfort and encourage you when you feel like giving up.

So I dare you today to step out of your comfort zone and step into your destiny.
Are you ready to chase your dreams ?
Are your ready to be brave ?
Are you ready to walk ?
Are you ready for your great destiny ?

A day full of HOPE,
A day full of RESOLUTIONS,
A day full of BELIEVING
A day full of FAITH.

But the Hope, Resolutions, Believe and Faith only last a second, minute, hour, a day
Our day to day problems overtakes, crush our dreams and destroy that Hope that was given on that day.
A weird feeling of being overwhelmed starts to appear and we go back to old routines, habits,  stress and problems that we fear.

It is almost natural to give up and accept Failur.
It is almost natural to lose hope.
It is almost natural to excuse our problems and find anything and everything to blame.

Things don't go as we imagined.
Plans don't work out.
Bad decisions are made .
It seems like everything has been said.

The world seems like it cannot go more wrong and wicked.
Everything seems so dark and everyone seems so lost.
We learn and make it a habit to roll with our depressing life; come to terms that it will lose, even if we try.

Habits,
Routines,
Comfort zones.

Failure,
Defeat,
Lazyness.

BUT

Only one more day of HOPE.
Only one more day of keeping the RESOLUTION.
Only one more day of BELIEVING
Only one more day of FAITH
makes all the difference.

Start getting rid of your habits.
Start changing your routine.
Start getting out of your comfort zone.

Start to work hard and aim for success.
Start to see the vision of victory.
And importantly
STOP BEING LAZY.

Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.

Let's stop complaining about how nothing is changed, and be the change instead.
Let's stop saying there is no love, and show love instead.
Let's stop moaning about how the world is dark and wicked, and be the light that shows the way.

Yes we are going to have problems.
Yes we are going to face failure.
Yes we are going to have unexpected events happening.
And yes we are going to go through rough times.

But there is a light in the darkness.
There is a hope for the hopeless.
There is a vision for the blind.
A place of belonging for the lost.
A Shelter for the homeless.
A Father to the fatherless.
Comfort for the depressed.
A Healer for the sick.
Courage for the doubtful.
Strength for the weak.

He is called
The wonderful counselor,
Almighty GOD,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of peace,

He is the
Anchor in our storm,
The advisor in our time of need,
The hand lifting us up from the cliff,
The lifeline when we are drowning,

The person who is always there,
Omnipresent; everywhere
Always protects,
Always trusts,
Always hopes,
Always perseveres,
the person who never fail,

So let us look forward to the new year
Even in those times of fear.
Let this be a year of shout and praise,
NO OTHER NAME, let there be raised
